PSD(Subway PSD Automatic Control System)
PSD(Platform Screen Doors) is a type of safety facility installed at railway stations and train platforms, usually closed, but automatically or manually opening and closing the doors according to the arrival of the train. It is mainly used on urban railway lines in some Asian and European countries, including Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Korea, and Japan.
The system automatically controls the operation of the train door by interlocking the screen door via motion sensor sensing or RF communication.
- Motion Sensor Sensing
- A system that controls the PSD by determining opening or closing through motion sensor detection
- RF Communication
- A system that controls the PSD by determining opening or closing through RF wireless communication.

Door Detection Sensor Device
- Installed on the PSD to detect the opening/closing of the entrance door of the train. (One device consists of seven sensors)
Correct Location Detection Sensor Device
- Installed between '1-4' and '2-1’ PSD to detect the stop position of a train. (One device consists of twelve sensors)
Entry and Exit Detection Sensor Device
- Installed on the front and rear sides of the train track to detect the train's entry and exit position. (One device consists of two sensors)
Laser Distance Detection Sensor Device
- A device for measuring the position and distance of a train.
- The measured information is displayed on the electronic display to provide the driver with accurate location information.
Radio Frequency Communications Device

Control Panel
MCP(MASTER Central Panel) / MCU(Main Control Unit)
- It is a device that monitors and controls subway platform control.
- ‘Master central panel’ is installed in the station office and ‘Main control unit' is installed on the platform to oversee the PSD system.

DCU(Door Control Unit)
- 'DCU' is the key unit that controls the PSD.
- It communicates directly with ‘MCU', and controls the PSD directly.
HMI(Human Machine Interface)
- HMI is a program for users to conveniently monitor and control various information.
- Displays real-time information collected from Control units on the screen.
- Register collected data in DB to help analyze data
Additional Devices
Driver Side HMI
- It is installed on the track side of the train and displays the operating status of the PSD through the LED display.
Train Position Display
- This device displays the distance and location information received from 'Laser Distance Detection Sensor Device' to help the driver stop at the correct location.
- It receives information from the laser distance sensor, and provides the driver with the Reach distance and position status(entrance, underachieve, correct position, overpass, advance.)
Destination guidance display
- It is an electronic display board that can display station name, train direction, terminal station, required time, PSD notification, etc. using LED MODULE.
- If necessary, various announcements in the station office can be displayed, so it can be used for various purposes.
PSD Opening/Closing LED
- This is an LED lamp to indicates whether the PSD(Platform Safety Door) is opened or closed.
